Display cabinet with mirrors in the doors

This old display cabinet has a rather lovely detail hidden up its sleeve. At first glance, the dark panels in the doors might look like glass, but they are actually old, matt mirrors. The mirrors bear traces of their previous life and give the cabinet a raw, almost slightly mysterious look, where the reflection takes a back seat to the patina. The outside of the cabinet has a light, cream-coloured finish with obvious chipped areas and remnants of blue paint. Open the two doors and even more colour appears: the inside is painted in a bright shade of blue, which can also be seen on the inside of the doors. The combination of different layers of colour, old wood, and matt mirrors makes this cabinet something quite special. Behind the doors are several shelves with plenty of space for storage and display. Use the display cabinet for tableware and glassware, textiles, books, or merchandise in a shop, where the cabinet itself can easily become part of the interior. The cabinet is an old one of a kind piece, and wear, marks, chipped paint, and variations in the surface are a natural part of its history and character. There’s not much mass production going on here.
