Product description

A beautiful old siphon in clear glass. In the early 1900s, the first siphons were made, and they quickly became very popular and were found in every restaurant and bistro. The bottles had their heyday in the 1920s and 30s. The function and justification of the siphon was that it became significantly easier than before to make soft/carbonated drinks. From being reserved for the few, all of a sudden there was a large commercial market for soft drinks. And with the entry of the siphon, you were able to keep the fizzyness so that the drinks did not immediately become "flat". The siphons were produced in Czechoslovakia. This was caused by a very high demand on the thickness and quality of the glass, as the bottles risked exploding due to the high pressure inside the bottle. The engravings and lead heads on the bottle were made in France
