Coffee, cake and craftmanship for customers
SNYGG HOME – Alternative interior shop with a cosy café atmosphere
9 km outside Nuremberg centre, more specifically Katzwang, there is a little gem. The gem is called “SNYGG HOME” and is a super cosy local comfort store/coffee shop, owned by Alexandra Stein.
If you are now thinking, “What on earth is a comfort store/coffee shop?”, We can tell you that the store is both an interior shop where you can buy hostess gifts, and it also functions as a café that offers coffee and homemade cake inside and outside the store premises.
A DREAM COMES TRUE
Fra hardcore business woman til café-ejer
Alexandra was a busy businesswoman with many annual trips, and she was used to moving in a very corporate and sometimes tough environment, but one day she quit her secure job. She was tired of the hardcore business life and wanted to try something else.
When Alexandra's friend offered her to take over some premises in the local town, she quickly accepted. Alexandra had lived in the town for many years, and she thought that there was a need for a gathering place where good friends could meet for a cup of coffee and a piece of homemade cake. At the same time, it was also her assessment that the area could bear a store with small furniture, handicrafts and delicacies for the home, hostess gifts, etc.
Alexandra’s favourite spot
After taking over the store, the first thing Alexandra did was remove a brick wallpaper and replace it with a real brick wall. The style should be Nordic and ooze cosiness and a homely atmosphere. “I am so happy that we made that brick wall. My first piece of furniture in the store was a large, long Kuta table from Trademark Living, and I remember clearly how excited I was when the table was placed in front of the brick wall. It was a real “WOW moment”. It is still my and the customers’ favourite spot in the store.”
In love with Trademark Living’s concept
Alexandra first came across Trademark Living at the Nordstil fair in Hamburg in January 2022. “When I first walked around the booth and saw all the details and furniture in a fine mix, I quickly realized that this could fit perfectly into the Nordic concept I was dreaming of. I fell head over heels in love with the combination of natural materials, vintage style, cool furniture, and the radiance of quality,” says Alexandra and continues, “In fact, I became so crazy about the concept that I quickly decided that I would also buy a batch of furniture for resale.
That’s why I have price tags on virtually everything in the store today. It always makes an enjoyable conversation when customers discover that they can also buy the furniture that is in the store, and I can feel a good interest in it. Many have asked interested questions about e.g., the before-mentioned Kuta table and I have also sold a Marley shelf to a customer after she saw it used to display pillar candles in the store. Overall, the concept has been very well received and we are busy.”
Fantastic sparring and dialogue
“I must comment on the collaboration I have with Lone, which we have had from day one. I have always received fantastic service and help with the first decoration of my store, where Lone has come up with many ideas and input on how I could decorate the store after sparring with me. Now afterwards, when I have questions about anything, Lone is also very quick to answer my questions. I get fantastic service, and it’s just an extra plus that she speaks fluent German”.
